A new action RPG based on the hit webtoon Solo Leveling has been announced for Xbox and PC. Revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase this weekend, Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is an action RPG adaptation of the webtoon from Chugong developed by Netmarble Neo and published by Netmarble.

An announcement trailer revealed some intense, action-packed gameplay featuring 4-player real-time co-op. What's unclear right now is if Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is an enhanced console/PC version of the free-to-play mobile game Solo Leveling: Arise (also from Netmarble), or if this is a separate game entirely.

The Xbox YouTube channel does say in its video description that Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive "brings the ultimate action RPG to Xbox with new mechanics and 4-player real-time co-op!" suggesting it could be the former. The Steam page also features the same key art as the mobile game.

Although no details were shared during the actual Xbox Games Showcase, an Xbox Store page for Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive did provide some additional information.

"Solo Leveling, the webtoon with 14.3 billion views worldwide, is now an action RPG game! Help our hero grow from his humble E-Rank beginnings," the game description reads. "Become the Monarch of Shadows through intense solo combat and 4-player co-op raids! From the pages of the webtoon to your screen, bring the story to life in Solo Leveling :ARISE OVERDRIVE!"

The Solo Leveling webtoon follows a notoriously weak hunter named Sung Jinwoo who gains the mysterious ability to level up like in a video game. By completing quests and gaining experience points, he is able to grow stronger, learning new powers and skills.

Solo Leveling is one of the most popular Korean webtoons in the world and has also been adapted into an equally popular anime series that premiered in January 2024.

This upcoming game follows Sung Jinwoo on his journey to become the world's greatest hunter with a narrative that follows the original story while adding new adventures exclusive to the game.

The product page teases "dynamic, gorgeously animated combat," which is on full display in the trailer. The RPG elements come from your ability to choose weapons and skill combinations. You're also able to build your own unique combat style through a skill tree that branches into eight different job advancements.

As you defeat monsters, you'll acquire items that you can use to craft powerful weapons, including ones featured in the webtoon like Kasaka's venom Fang and the Demon King's Daggers.

There's no specific release date for Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive although the trailer says it's coming to Xbox PC in Fall 2025 and to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud in 2026.
